Local Traffic Information
If you’re looking for local traffic information, including speeds on local streets and arterials, live traffic cameras, and long-term projects that might impact your commute, please explore the following options.
Bridge Seismic Safety Project
On September 2, 2013, the new East Span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge opened to traffic.
Drivers should note that ongoing construction (including lighting, painting, and on- and off-ramps)
will require sporadic lane and shoulder closures. For more information on the project, please visit the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Seismic Safety Retrofit Project
page.
East Bay SMART Corridors
The East Bay SMART Corridors Program provides real-time, local traffic conditions
and live streaming traffic cameras for local corridors in the East Bay, with a focus
on the San Pablo Avenue, Telegraph Avenue, and the Hesperian/International/E. 14th
Boulevard corridors.
Parkway
The existing south access road to the Golden Gate Bridge, known as Doyle Drive or
Route 101, is structurally and seismically deficient and must be replaced. Doyle
Drive has been re-envisioned as the Presidio Parkway. Construction began in late
2009 and will be complete in mid-2016. Click here for detailed information about construction phasing and expected closures.
Santa Clara County
Santa Clara County's Roads & Airports Department, through its Traffic Operation
Center (TOC), optimizes timing and coordination of approximately 140 traffic signals
on the county’s
expressways, and on the unincorporated portion of Bascom Avenue near Valley
Medical Center at Route 280. A real-time congestion map and over 400 real-time traffic
cameras are available on the site.
